Outdoor Gas Fireplaces

Outdoor gas fireplaces range from the simply rustic to extravagantly elegant. These fireplaces could be built-in or free-standing. The built-in versions could be made centerpieces of any elaborate living area outdoors. They are usually designed by experienced landscape designers or architects. There are also some pool and spa professionals who do them.

Fireplaces setup outside could be made with bricks and mortar and could feature any elements of design that you please. They could be incorporated as a part of your outdoor kitchen or placed near your pool. A lot of people have turned to using them in making their hot tubs and pools functional throughout the year. During the colder months, they could just relax on the deck, enjoying some hot chocolate and some roasted marshmallows beside the fire. There are also others who use it in creating an elaborate backyard oasis, along with a veranda and some palm trees – making the gas fireplace an essential and intricate part of the whole design.

There are also models of outdoor gas fireplaces, which are portable and less expensive. These lightweight fireplaces could be transported easily to tailgate parties, camping trips or even just to your backyard deck.

For those who are still torn between choosing the gas version or a wood-burning fireplace, here are some advantages of gas fireplaces over their wood-burning counterparts.

Gas fireplaces do not need any wood at all so you would not have to lug around heavy logs and worry about where to store them. They light instantly and are able to give an immediate fire.

The possibility of having a fire is also dramatically reduced as there would definitely be no hot embers coming out and hitting the ground, landing on things which could go ablaze. They also do not give off the smoke and the smells and fumes which a wood-burning fireplace does.

However, some drawbacks of using gas fireplaces would be that the flames are not the same as the ones you get with wood, and you would not be hearing the crackling sounds, which could to a cozy ambiance. However, there are some gas fireplaces which do have that option available.

Also, outdoor gas fireplaces could be expensive because of the cost of gas, however if you would not be using your fireplace much, then it should not be a big problem.
